A note from the Architect…
Inspired by the endless deep blue of Greece, I ‘ve always wanted to design and construct a luxurious Resort literally over the water. Since, however, a project like this would be technically impossible to implement over the Greek seas, I came across the idea of implementing it over artificially
created water, that is pool water
The challenge and opportunity at the same time was given by the Stella Island Resort & Spa project, which reflected my original concept of a Resort where the element of water is felt everywhere. So, on a relatively flat property, buildings were developed perimetrically yet in free layout around the pools and direct contact with the water. The existence of numerous islets, some with a tropical and indigenous plantation, and others of multiple common uses add to the general master plan. Wooden pathways, that look like old-style decks, based on drilled poles, connect these islets with the common areas of the building complexity, thus making them accessible to every guest.

My concern
Every time I visit Stella Island, I feel myself this very sense of relaxation, as genuinely other guests do, which has been true, my major concern, whilst in the process of designing and carrying out the Stella Island Project.
